Having said that, don't be under the assumption that every hotel is as pet-friendly as they claim. If your dog is a registered service animal in the United States, then they should recognize it here as if they would in the United States.

There are also dog daycare and boarding facilities in almost every neighborhood that will come to you to pick up your companion and take them to daycare or boarding.

Colombia does not permit the following dog breeds to enter the country, including purebreds and mixed breeds containing any of the following but are not limited to:
American Staffordshire Terrier, Pit Bull Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Doberman Pinscher, Bullmastiff, De Presa Canario, Rottweiler, Dogo Argentino, Dogo de Burdeos.
Although, I have seen many of these breeds inside Colombia so I am not sure how strict they enforce this. I would do some more research if you have any of these breeds just to make sure! We brought our Labrador/pit mix but his paperwork from the rescue we got him said “labrador retriever mix” so that may have helped us.

Most places will allow them (for a little extra money, of course) but just ask ahead of time! Most airbnb’s are case by case so I recommend contacting the listing directly to see if they will allow. It is important to be a great tenant and show that more accommodations should be dog friendly.
